Jon and Christine (J n C) joined today. We did not hike together but are in camp together. It is to hard to hike at another’s pace. You try to go faster or they slower.
Today was the first time I have felt worried about completing. It was so hard and I said I can’t do another day like that. The steep, steep up is what kills me. We had like 8 miles of it. I am a man, not a mtn goat. And so rocky. J n C were tested as well but ahh … you know. They fine. They did say they were surprised I could do it.
I looked ahead and there are no days like that in the near future. Good thing. Tomorrow starts with a ten mile 2000’ climb but half the slope. Will be a long haul and good test.
Had a great camp night right on a river next to Copper Colorado. Sprinkling and rumbling now.
As hard as the hike was I saw more wild flowers than ever. Saw a little pica, think cute gerbil. We crossed some snow stretches and see the views below. Wow.
An earned view is always better.

I would think the day after a “town break “ will be difficult, getting back into the rhythm etc. We’re rooting for you!! You’ve got this!! Beautiful pictures, thanks for sharing. ❤️
J & C’s tent looks familiar…and awesome 😉
