Camp got up early and we were on trail by 6AM. Afternoon thunderstorms were in the forecast and we had ten miles and 2300’ up to get over Kokomo pass. Interesting to start in the forest and as you go up the trees start to shrink, then bushes shrink and you are above tree line. Amazing to see hikers way up the mountain all zig zagging toward the top. Crossed some sketchy snow and went around some.
The thunder storms did not disappoint and by the time I got to the top I spent about 2 minutes and then got out of there. The high point was 12,282’. Hard day but manageable. Awesome views. 15 miles and am now at mile 132.
